Diaphragmatic Breathing

Diaphragmatic breathing, also known as deep breathing, is a technique that engages the diaphragm, a muscle located below the lungs. This technique helps to fully oxygenate the body and promote relaxation.

How to Practice Diaphragmatic Breathing:

  1. Lie down or sit in a comfortable position.
  2. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen.
  3. Inhale deeply through your nose, allowing your abdomen to rise while keeping your chest relatively still.
  4. Exhale slowly through your mouth, feeling your abdomen fall.
  5. Repeat this process for several minutes, focusing on the rise and fall of your abdomen.

Alternate Nostril Breathing

Alternate nostril breathing is a yogic technique that helps balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain while promoting relaxation and mental clarity.

How to Practice Alternate Nostril Breathing:

  1. Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight.
  2. Use your right thumb to close your right nostril and inhale deeply through your left nostril.
  3. Close your left nostril with your right ring finger, release your right nostril, and exhale through the right nostril.
  4. Inhale through the right nostril, then close it and exhale through the left nostril.
  5. Continue this pattern for several minutes, focusing on your breath and the sensation of air moving through each nostril.
